Orissa capital Bhubaneswar is all set to stage a week-long coaching camp from tomorrow for players selected to represent the country in the World Youth Chess Championship to be held at Turkey from November 11 to 28.
Five of the 11 players selected by All India Chess Federation arrived at OAS Association Bhawan, the venue for the camp today, along with Woman Grandmaster Aarthie Ramamswamy (Tamil Nadu) and International Master Swayangsu Satyapragyan (Orissa) as coaches. Players included Shreyansh Daklia Jain (Chhattisgarh): Diptayan Ghosh, Arpita Mukherjee, Das Sayantan (all West Bengal) and Sankalp Baliarsingh (Orissa).
Five more _ Shiny Das National (Tripura): Utkal Ranjan Sahoo, Debashis Das (both Orissa) and Mitrabha Guha, Khushi Dharewa (both West Bengal) _ are expected to join the camp tomorrow.
However, ace Orissa girl Padmini Rout will be missing the camp as she would be representing the country in the World Junior Championship, beginning in Argentina on October 21.
Coaching camp for the World Youth Championship, scheduled to be held in , is also being conducted simultaneously at Chennai and Pune. Speaking about the Bhubaneswar camp, which is being hosted by Orissa Chess Ad-hoc Committee, in association with Kalinga Chess Academy, both Ramaswamy and Satyapragyan said that they would try to streamline playing styles of the campers.
